Think back to a day when the sun was scorching your skin and the pavement and door handles were hot to the touch.  When you finally reach the moment you were able to walk inside to a cool, air-conditioned building you probably sighed with relief. Air conditioning gives us comfort when we need it, not only is it a glorious luxury, it actually offers significant health benefits.
Prevents Sleep Deprivation– Trying to sleep in hot temperatures can often be a fruitless endeavor. Tossing and turning all night is a common symptom of hot temperatures. Sleep loss can be detrimental to your health, especially if it occurs on a regular basis.
Asthma and Allergies-Keeping the windows open, especially when there is a high pollen count, can seriously aggravate allergies and asthma. It is better to shut those windows tight and blast the a/c!
Avoid Heat Exhaustion– High temperatures can produce very negative effects on the human body. Heat exhaustion leading to heat stroke or sunburn can develop when one is outside in the heat for prolonged periods of time.  Cooling yourself off in an air-conditioned area every so often is definitely a smart move.
